Perle cotton, embroidery floss, yarn...whatever color that matches your quilt.

I agree with you, when wool yarn is washed, the knot gets tighter and it's there forever.

Question...when you tie your knots do you tie each one before you go to the next one or do like the You Tube video & go down the whole row, tie the end off & then tie each one?? thx!

I use embroidery floss it goes quickly and looks fine after washing and washing.

I go accrross the row then snip and tie. A bit wasteful but much quicker than doing each one individually.

I used yarn many, many years ago and each knot turned into a ball of tight yard after washing and machine drying. It must have been wool.

I used ribbon to tie my first quilt. Comes in small packages only a quarter in wide.

I always use pearl cotton, but make sure to tie a square surgeons knot. If you do not know how to make one, google it and there will be instructions on how to tie... jacie

I agree about embroidery floss. Some use yarn, but I was told by a pediatric nurse that yarn tuffs ( and it will) can choke a baby...so no yarn on a baby quilt is a good idea.

use cotton crochet thread that is what we use
