I and my 12 yr old grandson made a quilt ( to give him something to do one summer when he was visiting) When he was about 24-26, he asked me if I could do a little repair on that quilt. I could hardly believe he still had it! It had the Tasmanian devil, Bugs Bunny and Tweety squares between blue jean squares. He has definitely used it and still has it.

I love all the stories on this thread. Especially precious replies from the wee little ones. The little boy who just got a big sister and got his very own quilt made me cry. So often the older child(ren) are left out when baby gets a present. So nice you included him!

I have made quilts (many of them) for my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and everytime we visit with any of them and I see their quilts in a special place in their own homes, my heart is filled to overflowing with pride and joy. My most recent moment of this caliber was this past 4th of July holiday at our home. I had all the kids and grandkids here for the whole week; kids in every bed, all over the living room floor, and sofas--and right there in the middle of all the quilts and covers was one that I made my great granddaughter years ago, special request with the weirdest colors (in my mind anyway); being watched carefully that no one else snagged it.....I love it and when I was talking with her about her quilt the next day, she wants me to make her another one, and drew out the design she wants and went out to my sewing room and picked out her colors. So another quilt to work on for December (her birthday).

I know just how all of you felt at those expressions of appreciation.....

That is so sweet! That's why God gave us kids--they warm our hearts like nothing else can! She is one smart little girl, if she can come up with the word "amazing" and know how to use it!

I made my three-year-old granddaughter a simple quilt. When her daddy held it up for her to see, she really looked it over. Then she exclaimed, "It's amazing!" And off she went to bed with it.

My GG Sons Would love this pattern. Please, what is the name.

The reason I did not post the link is because I do not like the name of the site. You may call me narrow minded, but that is how I was raised. You can Google Take Two Quilt Pattern and find it.

If my 3 yr old granddaughter said that, she would mean it. They tell you at that age if they do not like something. She loved it.
