Tilted blocks
Is there a formula to make the blocks tilt? Have a square but want the blocks to "tilt" or lean to one side. Does someone have a link to a formula?
Hope this makes sense. |
If you Google Tilted quilt blocks you will come up with more info than you might want. This site has a video that may be what you want. https://www.nationalquilterscircle.c...block-012934/#

We have this discussion from time to time. It's older but I like the math in this book:
https://www.amazon.com/Twist-Turn-Fr.../dp/1885588100 One of the places I've recommended that is in this thread here, which has some other info and places to get other techniques as well! https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...k-t310289.html |

Perhaps cut a rectangle with the longer side an inch (or more) longer than your square and cut once diagonally. Sew to opposite sides of the square (with the diag. cut side to the outside). Trim off the excess. Measure the remaining 2 sides and repeat. Trim off excess to square up. I assume the longer the rectangles the wider the 'border' will be.

I think Bonnie Hunter has a wonky design setting in her free pattern tab on her quiltville site?

The free pattern for Happy Scrappy Houses from the quiltville site may work for you.

Tartan...ty for the info. I definitely know how to do this now.
