I like them both, but #2 seems brighter to me. The colors you have chosen are beautiful.

My vote is for #2.

Cybrarian 01-12-2016 08:01 PM

Really like them both, but if I had to choose it would be #1. We're not much help I'm afraid!

Boston1954 01-12-2016 08:14 PM

I like number two. They are both nice but this one calls me.

cannyquilter 01-13-2016 04:27 AM

I'm for 2.

Fastpedal 01-13-2016 04:28 AM

Love the fabrics. I vote for #2. Ilike the thinner inner border.

Reba'squilts 01-13-2016 04:31 AM

I like number 1 . It just seems brighter to me.

Karamarie 01-13-2016 05:13 AM

I like The second one better.

Sharonquilts 01-13-2016 05:20 AM

I like #1 the best. I think it makes the center portion of your quilt stand out more.

I totally agree!!

maviskw 01-13-2016 05:38 AM

I think it needs the "stop border" as in #2, but I would make one of the narrow borders about half the size or less of what you have there. A tiny line separating the other two adds interest.

WMUTeach 01-13-2016 05:45 AM

I like #1 but really either is just fine. The second seems a bit more "dark" while #1 is lighter.

crispins 01-13-2016 06:18 AM

Beautiful. #2 has more dimension

gram2five 01-13-2016 08:31 AM

Both would be beautiful, but I'm casting my vote for #2.

MargeD 01-13-2016 09:24 AM

Great fabric choices, love the dark blue with purple and black, very nice. I think I like #2 with the narrow inner border of the outside border fabric with the lighter blue in between. It seems to make the blocks "float" that way and make them stand out.

Onebyone 01-13-2016 09:30 AM

Just my opinion but I would leave out the two narrow borders, just use the wide border. This way the quilt pattern will float.

donnalbaldwin 01-13-2016 09:37 AM

2, thanks for asking

Carol34446 01-13-2016 09:42 AM

#2, the dark inner border makes the pattern stand out more, but both are great, and LOVE the material.

This is my exact opinion also.

klswift 01-13-2016 10:13 AM

they are both great. I often ask students 'which one do you keep being drawn back to?' One has a very definite edge and the other has a floating look. Both are beautiful in a different way. Trust yourself - too often we second guess ourselves out of the one we prefer. The only thing I would do for sure is to keep the pictures of both. In the future you may want to do the other one.

Carol34446 01-13-2016 10:42 AM

Fabric.com has it on sale right now. Like I need more material, BUT!!!

IBQUILTIN 01-13-2016 11:55 AM

I like #1. It seems to pop your other colors better for me. Both are beautiful, so you go girl.

daisydawg 01-13-2016 12:08 PM

# 2 would be my first choice.

Barbara Kantola 01-13-2016 12:55 PM

My preference is number 1, but either would work fine. Whichever you choose will be lovely! You and I must like the same fabrics, because whenever you post a quilt, I really like your color choices!

Wanabee Quiltin 01-13-2016 01:43 PM

Definitely the first!

greaterexp 01-13-2016 02:58 PM

I like the second option better, but either way, it will be beautiful!

margied 01-13-2016 04:05 PM

They are both great. I would do #2 on mine but #1 is brighter - can't go wrong either way!

Penster 01-13-2016 04:42 PM

So pretty! I like number 2 the best.

Bree123 01-13-2016 06:01 PM

#2 because it gives more contrast between border & center of quilt.

Oh yes! Please tell me where I can find this fabric! My grandaughter really wants a galaxy print on her quilt! Thanks! :) Love your quilt by the way ! Beautiful !

Fizzle 01-13-2016 06:59 PM

Number 2. Beautiful!

Well, I posted this information a few posts back, but here it is again. It now says temporarily out of stock. There were 15 yards available earlier. Guess you and I aren't the only two who like it...

#1 Love the colors in your quilt and either setting would be beautiful but #1 is my choice

bjdemir 01-13-2016 08:55 PM

I like them both, but I think #1 wins out.

maviskw 01-13-2016 09:10 PM

There is another way to do this. That would be to separate completely the quilt from the border fabric. No 1 and No 2 both are the same as fabric next to it. By using a different stop border, you would separate the fence rails from the border colors.
What to use for a stop border? Good question. Black? Gold? A very thin line of white? Black is already in the quilt, so that would work.
I guess you would have to try some if you think you might do this.

just_the_scraps_m'am 01-14-2016 04:53 AM

hmmm.....#1 but with the thinner border from #2...LOL

btiny36 01-14-2016 07:04 AM

I like #1 it makes the center look like it's floating.....

Friday1961 01-14-2016 10:00 AM

2nd photo. I love the dark starry fabric, then the turquoise, and the wider final border out of the other dark fabric.

But purple somewhere in there would look great, too!

gramquilter2 01-14-2016 02:22 PM

I like #2 also. I think the inner border should just be a small frame for the quilt. Love the quilt by the way.

quiltmouse 01-14-2016 04:05 PM

I like #2. It appears like it's floating in space, as opposed to anchored to the borders.
