Time to select borders...
2 Attachment(s)
I am posting two different border ideas. They are very similar. But I have noticed that if I post two possibilities, I can look at them both at the same time easier here than another way that I have found. Plus, then I get input from interested quilters who help me decide. :)
I know each of these borders "bleeds" into a fabric from the center, but that has never bothered me. I am just trying to decide which I like better. Which do you like better? Thanks for any opinions. (This is the Warm Wishes pattern, and the focus fabric is galaxies. I got four space fabrics for Christmas and love all four. I had hoped to put them all in one quilt, but it just was too busy looking. This galaxy fabric is my favorite of the four. The other 3 I will use later.) Dina |
I vote for #1....beautiful quilt
i'm no help I like them both
i love the colors in your quilt too. |
Number two, but both will be beautiful!!!
Option #2 for me. It's more dramatic.
Number 2.
Beautiful quilt! Watson |
#2. Love your colors.
I love that quilt & those colors are just awesome! Can you tell us the name of that galaxy fabric & where it came from? I vote for #2 borders.
Border #2.
hmmm, i kind of like the darker inner border one myself. Interesting!

I like them both but 1 is my favorite. Pretty fabrics!
I like border #2. The dark inner border puts a frame around the quilt.
Number 1 ............
I like #2 best.
Number 2, it's galaxy-er looking. And as quiltsRfun said earlier in these responses, it's more dramatic.
i like the second that separates the inner pattern from the outer borders
I like 2 best!
I like the #2
#2 is my fave

I like #1, but without the purple in the inner border, just the turquoise. I think that one has more energy and movement to it. Both are beautiful.
I like them both but if I had to choose I'd go with #2. You can't go wrong either way.
#2 is my choice
They are both beautiful but I like #1 best.
I like the second one better. Will you use a total of three? I like the two narrow and one wide that you have on display.
Number 2 for me.:)
second one.
Both really beautiful! But I prefer No. 2 Awesome quilt!!
Border #2 for me too. Very beautiful quilt

I prefer number two. Might play a little with the width of the black border. Another nicely done quilt Dina.
I'm loving number one!
Thanks everyone for your votes! It is about decision time, and I am still leaning towards the second, so that one may be it.....maybe, possibly, could be.....:)

Thanks for the source of this beautiful fabric, Dina. I can't wait to see it finished with backing & quilting.
For me it's #2!
I like number #1 better. To my eye the blocks of focus fabric (the galaxy fabric) that abut the border disappear in choice #2 but they are more vibrant and come to the forefront in #1. #2 also seems to darken the overall appearance of the quilt but that could simply be monitor perception.
I like the #2 border. It will be gorgeous.
Well, I love the way the squares float in the first one, but the 2nd is definitely more "celestial" and dramatic!
#2 does it for me, too.
