I am binding a lap sized quilt 46x60 ish and I need to know... how long should it take me to do the binding?
This is the first quilt that I have put binding on, I have been working on this for a few hours... maybe about 3. I am about 3/4 of the way done, but I was wondering if it always takes this long or am I doing something wrong? |
It takes me awhile. Probably about the same as you're doing.

work at your own pace. it takes me a long time
|
It does take a while... well worth it though since it is the finishing touch!
|
I've never done it all in one stretch. I've usually done it in bits and pieces over several days.

Thanks everyone!
It makes me feel better to know that I am not working at a snails pace. I felt for sure that I was just slow. :D |
nope takes awhile and just when you think you are close you realize you still have 1/2 way to go! soo been there done that, but love that each stitch is one less to completion.
|
It took me almost a month ... but then I have physical limitations when it comes to hand sewing.
Sounds like you're doing well to me. ali |
I take my time when I hand sew the binding down. It is my favorite part of doing the quilt.

I did that the first night... I sewed for about an hour and then I realized that I was not even a third of the way through it. I was so crushed. It has since become a mission to get finished for a show and tell with a local quilting friend. I have about 65 more inches to go!!!! |
