Gee I don't think I need one if it's the machine I saw that is on sale at Amazon and Ebay for $600. plus.

So many bought one and then gave it a bad review. Most didn't know how to use it in the first place and declared it not worth the money. It's a great machine. You can buy the bigger tip for 2 1/2" binding. I use it for straight single fold binding and bias binding. I take left over 2 1/2 strips and run through the machine. When I want scrappy binding I join the strips of batting I have already made. I saw two of the machines at Walmart in the craft section last time I was there. I guess I need to go back and get them if they are still available.

Some machines have a Quilt Binding set, like Janome. Another option that's cheaper if you have a Bernina is to buy the 70/71 flat fell foot. There is a video on line. I still need to sew a whole binding on a quilt, but tried it at the dealer and it works great.

Wow, for $500, I can make a lot of bias tape on my ironing board and buy lots of material. I can't imagine that this machine would be that useful. How much was it in the beginning before it got those gouging prices?

The same thing happened to me when I needed a portable CD player. I couldn't find mine while I was healing up from being sick and decided to just buy another one. The CD player I bought from Sony when it was new at $40, was now going for $100 used and $600 new. I did end up buying one for $100 (used) and it served my purpose. However, after I got healed up and was looking for something else, I found my CD player. Murphy's Law working really well.

I think I paid about $50 for mine when it first came out. I went to Walmart today and there was one left on the bottom shelf in the notion dept. It was on clearance for $25. I bought it for a back up. Mine is getting old. I have found if you go to a smaller town Walmart a lot of the items not in the bigger stores are still on the shelf. I have two Walmart close to me. One in a smaller town and one in the larger town. The smaller town one seems to have the can't find anymore items. I think they keep them until they sell all of them. Don't restock as much.

I wanted to buy a Walkman. I wanted to listen to local radio stations while walking. I couldn't fine one anywhere like the original with the good radio.
