This last week I haven't had the urge to quilt. I think its all the rain. It rather takes the wind out of ones sails. Anyway thats what I think is wrong with me. Get rid of stuff-never. Took too long to collect.

I switch back and forth between projects. Currently have 4 sandwich and partially quilted, 2 on the design wall. And then theres my selling projects, a pile of them precut and ready to sew together, and one commission wheelchair bag. If I get tired of one I go to another. Theres never enough hours in the day to accomplish all I want. So I've started making myself stop. So I guess the answer is no, I just get tired of the same project. Recently I decided to let someone else do the quilting on my older tops not finished. I figure at least they will get done and maybe I could sell or find someone in need, which ever comes first.

Hasn't happened yet wish for more time at it, 28 years and still enjoy all different types of projects

For me quilting is like a drug. If I am not in my sewing room I am thinging about quilting. Part of quilting for me is the friendships I have formed from quilt guild and people I have met at quilting classes. maybe that is what you need to get back in the groove.

I concur with everything you just said. The outdoors is calling.

OH sure.. we all get that way if we live long enough.. I have lots of things I like to do.. I weave a rug or three, I knit for a time.. make some garments.. make baskets, garden... paint.. then a quilt pattern will strike my fancy and I'm back to quilting again for a few years. The biggest trouble with all that is I have stuff to do all of those things and I'm afraid if I get rid of any of it I'll want it back in 6 months or so.. By the time you're in your 60's, it's just too much stuff!!

Me too. Summer is usually my time to take a break, clean out my room, maybe do some Linus quilts since we meet all summer, and get ready for whatever I'm doing for the fall shows.

I get that way from time to time, and then along comes a new pattern or a new piece of fabric that I like, or a trip to Lancaster Pa and WOW "my interest is back" and a new quilt is born!!!!
Now, I need for one of those things to happen because I am in limbo and the machines are not moving. |
