My flag flies everyday also. My husband and son both served in the service.

ME TOO, ME TOO!!!! The Yardpole (with light) and porch flags fly all year round. Then starting at Memorial Day, I bring out everything red, white, and blue and decorate "everywhere". And it all stays out through June and July, for Flag Day, (June 14)and then of course Independence Day.
For those of you staying home today and tonight, don't forget your local PBS station for the Capitol 4th concert tonight. Always good music and lots of pomp and circumstance, with military honors. My favorite holiday of the year. |
Hats Off!
Along the street there comes A blare of bugles, a ruffle of drums, A flash of color beneath the sky: Hats off! The colors before us fly.... But more than the flag is passing by.... Days of plenty and years of peace; March of a strong land's swift increase; Equal justice, right, and law, Stately honor and reverend awe; Sign of a nation, great and strong To ward her people from foreign wrong: Pride and glory and honor,-all Live in the colors to stand or fall. Hats off! Along the street there comes A blare of bugles, a ruffle of drums; And loyal hearts are beating high: Hats off! THE FLAG IS PASSING BY! (Henry Holcomb Bennett) |
