i have aqusetion.i am current using my high school grad present of a singer stylist sewing machine-circa 1950.while it works fine,it has always been loud and i am now thinking i will pass this one on to my daughter and buy a new machine.what machine do you current use and what would you all recommend to me?it only needs to have a forward,backward and have the capability to machine quilt a quilt made of cotton or cotton blends with a batt and muslin backing.........marty

You would probably get more answers if you start a new topic. Not everyone comes back to read the new posts with in a topic. If you need help on how to do just let me know?

I'm very excited for you. I just got my 1924 treadle working. It just needed a new belt and some oiling. Of course, I had to figure out how to thread it, but it felt like Christmas when I sewed a line of stitching, and it worked!!! It does bite you with the bug to buy every bargain vintage/antique machine you see! Good luck driving by the next garage sale.
