I bought an x-ray machine at auction for $3. It works great and has a nice large area so I don't have to move the pattern around. I want to have my BIL put it into a table for me so I don't have to store it and then take it out again when needed.

I used to use my computer screen, the tv and have even resorted to taping patterns to the window until I finally bought one for only 15$ on an auction. I know exactly what you mean. Congratulations!

I use my folding Ott Lite under the extension for my sewing machine. Works great. Marge L.

I made one out of an old drawer and a piece of plexiglass. I just up a flashlight inside and waaaalaaa.

As BellaBoo said, you may not use it often, but it sure is nice to have it when you want to use it. It sure beats scotchtaping to the window!

great find. I made my own, then purchased one, now I use a push light that is under the clear table of my sewing machine. it is big enough for small projects and always available. just reach under the table and puch the light on

My DH built me one a number of years ago out of some scrap 1"x4"s and cut them down some. I found a clear clip board that he attached to the top and then wired in a light bulb socket that would hold a small light bulb and the cord has a switch on it. simple, cheap and easy to use and with the clip board feature, your patterns stay put as well as your wonder under or whatever you're using. He also made a few for some of my sewing buddies.
