Is this a traditional pattern?
I found this lovely pattern (link below) in the appropriately named Quilt Lovely book by Jen Kingwell. The basic block looks extremely familiar and I was wondering if anyone could identify it. It's just a combination of rec-triangles and squares, but it forms a lovely pattern. It reminds me of some kaliedoscope patterns, maybe? Thanks for any help.

i don't know but someone will, it's pretty

I don't think so... I think it's her original design. I've never seen it before. It's beautiful, tho. And simply done with 4-patches and half rectangles.
|
I'd swear I've seen it in slightly different form.
|
Very Unusual. very nice.

I don't think so either. But I can tell you having dealt with those elongated triangles, that they are difficult to get perfect.

Oh! oh! oh! Would you believe that I just got this die last week:
http://www.accuquilt.com/shop/go-hal...rectangle.html Got a deal on it, but didn't know what I was going to do with it. Add squares that finish at 3" and you have the block. Thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
On the bottom of that page, it says "Flutterby". I think that may be the name of the pattern. It does look like stylized butterflies.
|
it looks like a 16 patch with 4 triangle/rectangles in the outside corners instead of the 4 squares.

When I clicked on the link, it brought me to the picture and then I could scroll to the left and their was the same quilt in different colors. It was from: fatquartershop.blogspot.com. Caption read: 2015 Summer Book Club: Quilt Lovely by Jen Kingwell. Hope this helps. Nice quilt.
