This comes up often. I hate it. I hate the look of it in quilts and the feel of it. I think there are so many nice choices of thread on the market and invisible thread is not one of them.

after reading about how hard it is to use, i don't think i'll ever use mine.

I was scared to try it, but on the signature quilt I did this summer, it was really the best choice for the quilt. I was pleased with the way it turned out - I used the YLI monofiliment wonder thread. I did test a test piece and also tested how it stands up to being ironed - there were no problems with it.

Overall, I was pleased with the way it turned out, and would not hesitate to use it again if it was the best choice for a quilt.

Cheers, K

(I did blog about my experience with the thread)

I use the polyester type instead also. The nylon seems to cause much more trouble for me when I try to sew with it.

I am just now trying it and am having trouble not only seeing the thread but it doesn't want to let me put a knot on the end. Thinking of trying a double thread and maybe I will have more luck. Since I paid $8 for a spool and plan on using it up but will never buy it again.

I use it all the time. No issues with it. When I first started to free motion I used it so it wouldn't show if I had problems. It helped me get the courage to go to standard thread colors. I would never use it on large projects.

I've used the clear thread a few times and really liked it :)

I have used spools and spools of nylon and poly... I would not be without it! It did take a bit of learning a few tricks , rather than the "load and go " of most threads.

I have tried it and don't like it except for the fact that it's invisible. It's hard to see when FMQ and I don't like the feel of it after it's quilted.....it's not soft. I much prefer cotton thread or cotton/poly.
