Glad you gals like the quilt. I keep thinking one day I am going to make it. The block is super easy and that's what I am liking these days.

Three colors, maybe a disappearing 9 patch. pretty easy to do and quick. And it looks really good in three colors. Here is a link to a Pinterest page with lots of D9P quitls. This is my favorite done in red and black.

Awww, my favorite subject quilt! A big rig! 20 years behind the wheel of one of them babies,& now I've hung up the keys, but I keep making quilts for them! The bunk mattresses are 40"X80" in size. The size of dorm room bunks in college, that's why they have trouble getting sheets for them. Now to your dilemma, why not find out what he likes in sports or such? Personally, red & black are 2 of my favorite colors to play with, so coming up with ideas is easy for me. Chevron? Rail Fence? Carpenter Star (Gray would be my 3rd color), just about any beginners pattern. I make them come out to about 60"X80-82". Looking forward to seeing it finished.

That is Really cool.. I love it, and it's quick! Thanks!

Would this do? I don't know if there is a pattern for this quilt. I saw something similar somewhere on the internet, probably Pinterest and designed it in EQ7. It is a 9 inch finished, 9 patch block. All the blocks in this quilt are exactly the same block, just turned different ways. The quilt as shown here is 72 x 72 without any borders. Because it is a 9 patch, it could easily be upsized to a 12 inch block. The last quilt is 6 x 8 blocks and with binding should finish about 54 x 72.

Oh, my! I think I have a red, and black disappearing 9 patch. I'll have to find and finish it. Thanks for jogging my memory!

Thanks all. He saw a picture of the labrynth walk and would relly like that. So much for the "quick quilt".

Great color scheme and so many patterns to choose from. There was a comment section just last week about how easy the squares for the labryinth quilt were to put together. You might look that up. It would be nice to make what he says he would really like.

This is one I saved on Pinterest. Seems like it might work. http://pin.it/Nh-_UQw
