It's good he made the choice even though it is a harder pattern you will know he really likes it. Good luck on the labryinth quilt. Look forward to seeing your final quilt or maybe you could do a tutorial of you making it. :)

Preface: not all my ideas are good ones - I just put them out there as options and for humor!
If he's a long-haul trucker and has a sense of humor, how about using one of the panels of the US on the back so he can "map out" routes in his sleep...or you (or he or his wife) can periodically use markers or embroidery thread to mark on the map the places he and his truck have been. If he r-e-a-l-l-y has a sense of humor, give him a matchbox truck to match his own truck to go along with it...just a touch of whimsey. or...well, better stop here. have fun and I'm glad he recognizes your skills and asked you to contribute to his daily life. |

Thanks all. He saw a picture of the labrynth walk and would relly like that. So much for the "quick quilt".

Love these ideas. Yes, he has a great sense of humor. For Christmas I got him the shirt about being the wonderful son-in-law of a freaking awesome mother-in-law. The real kicker - he had bought me the shirt with the names reversed. Yes, I wear it!
His mother quilts so I feel really honored that he wants quilts from me instead. I have never seen hers so know nothing about them. Yes, I love him, and he is good to my daughter and grandkids - that's what is important.

He is most definitely worth it.

Well, I guess he would like that quilt. He wants you to work your butt off for him. Is he worth it? I hope so. I haven't seen a single LW made in red and black. Yours will be a first.

I like the pattern that "Barb from Louisiana" suggested.
I made a quilt for the truck I used to drive. I used both Cotton and Wool batting. It was 54 x 70, too short and narrow. I should have made it about 70 x 84. Mike |
