I am ashamed to admit... that I'm not ashamed of the many great tips I'm getting from reading this thread!

Tinker Tots 04-07-2011 03:26 AM

That means you are teaching us new quilters bad habits! But I am learning a few things, I would have never thought to use a permanent marker, WOW, a great thought. And I have quilted to 3 a.m and stayed in PJ's all day on Saturday, I am pretty new here, I need to know the abbrev. for some of the things y'all write. DD DH I need a glossary.

sharoney 04-07-2011 03:28 AM

I really let too many things go undone because I am working on a project.

Here, Here!!!!

Try living with an atrist. Although he tries he just can't help but consult on the fabric choices if he thinks the quilt may end up in our home.

Our bosses would be too if they were lucky enough to have the quilting bug.

I have finished several projects, but am sooooo guilty about buying books, patterns and fabric. I keep telling myself that someday I will be able to retire and won't be able to afford them. Retirement may be a dream, but the reality of the quilting suff is real.

Relist one on the same sight and sell it right away. You can usually copy the picture and sometimes the wordage so you can relist before you even receive it. You might even get the seller to hold off shipment (but you must pay upfront) and have them ship it directly to your customer.

I am ashamed to admit that I spend probably way too much time reading this board! Also admit to collecting almost every quilt pattern I find online..... thanks for the entertainment!!!

katykwilt 04-07-2011 06:10 PM

KandiKane 04-07-2011 09:40 PM

Me too....but am always afraid I won't have all I need for a particular project and then there are those beautiful fabrics that just jump out and say "buy me". Plus finding great prices on quality fabrics no longer in production is the real temptation for me since prices are going up and quite possibly the quality. Guess we could have a lot worse habits. :-D

pjaco 04-08-2011 06:06 AM

What the heck are we doin? I am the same way, embarassed by my stash and UFO's. If I only had more room!

I would rather have one more weekend day each week. I can always rent a storage locker when we downsize the house since my daughter is moving away to grad school soon.

HOW COOL IS THAT!!! (sounds like something I'd do, if we had early bird sales around here, that is...)

This is the reason that I sometimes have to work until late to make sure I do everything I need to. Work it though!

sewnserge 04-08-2011 08:42 PM

A few years ago I was the manager of the fabric dept. at Walmart in our town.... one of my friends and co-worker would look at me with her jaw on the ground, then break out laughing as I unwrapped and stroked and oohhed and ahhed over the fabric... She just couldn't understand why I was so enamored with "just fabric". Ha!! How little she knew!!!

travelingquilter 04-10-2011 01:01 PM

USE THE SELVAGE, don't pin my corners, use a blanket instead of a batt inthe middle, keep buying when i probably have enuf fabric for the rest of my days!

dollycathy 04-11-2011 08:50 AM
