I did go there, but I am dail-up. I waitted for 2hrs. & finaly had to stop it.

There has to be some other way. Let me see if I can help you. Yes, you just use strips, number dependent on your liking. The tutorial shows sewing two 2.5'' strips together, pressing the seam to the dark side, then sewing a 4.5'' strip of contrasting color to the pieced strips on both sides creating a tube. You then line up the 45-degree line on your ruler to the seams in the tube and cut your blocks, alternating between the upper and lower seams when cutting blocks, like the tute here shows. Does this make sense or clear as mud? That being said, you really can use as many strips as you want, varying sizes, as long as when you create the "tube" you make the strips the same sizes. For example, to use up scraps, you can sew 4 or 5 1'' strips together and then another set to create the tube. It is really a lot of fun to play with this. I am attaching two pics of small things I did using this technique to show how the number of strips, as well as the arrangement f the blocks make the quilts look different. Does this help you? I just made a king size quilt using just strips. I sewed three strips together, then another three strips -- sewed the two together and cut the squares. I will attach a picture of my quilt and maybe you can see what I am talking about.

Did you have pattern or just your idea?
I love the way you got the center going out. what size blocks did you use? |

The center is a pattern called Transitions from Cozy Quilts - I added the outside to make it big enough.
