I love embroidery work with quilting. Yours will be great when finished.

It is very pretty. It reminds me of redwork:) I would add a nice red border to keep it a red and white top:) I would quilt it in a white thread to not distract from the beautiful prints you have:) I love the scene in both prints. I love the other fabric you have but would not use it on the front but maybe the as the backing.:) lovely quilt top

For me, it's the red printed middle material that I don't like....seems to be too much white in the quilt. Your embrodery work is great!! I would remove the middle printed material and either find something brighter to use or make red and white pinwheels to replace it. IMHO

I think you need a red that will match the color in the fabric, maybe burgundy, between the center and the border. I really think that other fabric is too busy to make a good add on. You could put a 1 to 11/2 " border on the inner one, and then add a wider (same color) after the redwork fabric.

The handwork is beautiful. I can't tell by the pictures what the layout is though. I think a pieced red and white border would be perfect for this.

Do not use red thread for quilting, it would take away from you beautiful red embriodery. Clear would work better, make swirls in the snow......a solid red border would look great. Don't use a busy border.....it will also take away from your red work.

Picture isn't good. Where is the pinwheel you mention? Is that red work true or printed? I think that other red/white fabric is not a good match...makes everything blah....(jmho), but not liking what you are showing as a possible border either.... Wait for a sale on holiday fab or use coupon and take red work with you and check out something else....maybe just an old fashioned deep red/ white small scale check will make a good companion to the redwork.....hard to say

I think having a red separator border, no wider than 1 1/4", then a checkerboard (4 patch border, then and 1 1/4" border, then a large piece block in the center

I'd suggest a red border. Not bright red--maybe one of those mottled, soft reds. I didn't like the print suggested on the border. Too busy--takes the eye away from the embroidery.

I also vote for a more solid red, love your redwork!
