Two more ribbons

I now have 3 ribbons for my "critter" quilt. My first ever ribbon on my first ever entry was in Crockett at the quilt show there in late November....It was the BLUE Ribbon!

I have now entered it in the Jefferson Quilt Show, Jan.27-29. When I arrived there on Friday I had received the "BEST USE OF COLOR" Ribbon. When I went back to pick up my quilt on Sunday afternoon, I had also received 2nd place for "VIEWER'S CHOICE"! plus a check! Am I excited or what!

Next destination, the Azalea Quilt Show in Tyler, March23-24th. WOOHOO!

DebraK 02-01-2012 12:04 PM

This may be a better picture of my quilt. Hope I haven't cut off too much of it. This is the pic I intended to send in the first place.

I've always admired that pattern but I know I'd never have the patience to finish it. You did a wonderful job on yours and it deserves all the ribbons you can get. You Go Girl!

Drue 02-01-2012 12:56 PM

My first thread never showed up...or if it did I can't find it.
What I said was, this quilt just won 2 more ribbons at the Jefferson Quilt Show, Jan. 27-29.
First ribbon was "BEST USE OF COLOR".
Second ribbon was " 2nd PLACE IN VIEWER'S CHOICE", plus a check. I was so suprised and excited about all this. Now our next destination is the Azalea Quilt Show in Tyler, March 23 &24.

I know Canada is a big place, but I tried to pull up info about the pattern by Rosemary for my next show entry but I didn't find much info and when I tried to pull up shops that supposedly carried her patterns, didn't any more....so I surmized that her web site was not kept up to date. Do you have any info about her web site or her (since she's Canadian)...I'd still like to persue more of her patterns. Please PM me if you find out anything...It will be greatly appreciated.
Hugs

Thanks so much for the "kudos"....I am so very proud of this quilt. Hope I can live up to my "reputation", and can come up with a good follow-up! As I have said before, I think MAYBE I set my standards too high for a first timer!

Stunning quilt, you deserved the ribbons.

Drue 02-02-2012 04:42 AM

Thanks again for all the compliments and good wishes!
FYI...I did the entire quilt by machine. The applique's are done with various widths of satin stitches. The quilting was done by a LAQ friend of mine in Shreveport and was was done with the monofiliment thread..and I must add that she did a marvelous job on "our" quilt....she gets some of the "kudos" as well for her wonderful work!

Thanks again and hugs

gailinva 02-02-2012 05:25 AM

Wow!!!!You deserve every ribbon you get. What a project!!!

BuzzinBumble 02-02-2012 08:00 AM

Drue, you deserve all those awards for your quilt! You did an amazing job and it is truly a beauty! Sometimes I think that the Viewer's choice award is the most gratifying of all. Congratualtions to you!
