I used to use the really cheap skinny paintbrushes for cleaning the machine, but after 3 or 4 uses, would start to flare out and be useless. I found some curved mascara brushes at a beauty supply that have stiff bristles that the lint really sticks to. Also have T squares that DH found next to a dumpster several years ago.

I made a trip to emergency room last summer trying to cut when i was tired. YUp. That rotary blade was still sharp! LOL Cost me almost $400

And wine goes great with chocolate. A little splash of tequila once in awhile help the ole' free motion quilting too!

OK, now I am really intrigued with the T square idea....if you place the T part square with the table or mat edge, how do you position the fabric...even with the table/mat edge, fold on the upper part of the t...sorry, I have a headache and just can't seem to wrap my head around this. Heaven knows I need all the help I can get to cut accurately!

I've found that the mascara brushes also work magic on my
computer key board! I have a long haired, white Persian who
walks in front of me to get my attention, all the while shedding
long hairs from her waving tail. And of course a lot of it settles
in the keyboard. First time I cleaned it out with the mascara
wand I was horrified at the big blobs I got out. That's part of
my routine now, Fredrica is very determined that I should
notice the poor little unloved kitty~~and I can't stand sitting
here with a crying cat outside the door.

One of my favorite items is the empty loose face powder containers. I put my pin cushion right inside and put the cover on when I travel for a girls' quilting get away. No pins get lost and I don't get stuck!
I also use the pill bottles for bobbins and broken needles.
The mascara brushes are a great idea! Gotta get me some!
Oh, one more thing. When traveling with my sewing machine, I keep a section of drawliner to cushion my machine in it's travel case and then use it on the table to hold my machine in place while sewing. Great stuff!

I use one of the compressed air cans for keyboards. Every so often, I spray that into my bobbin area and gets the fuzz out!

You're lucky to be able to read while riding. I get deathly sick if I try that. Good reading!!

How big is the Carpenter's T-square?????

It is very heavy, and about 18 " each leg. I have to store it behind a bookcase as it does not fit on any shelf.
I borrowed it overnight and 'my man' said "keep it" that was in 1984 -- he died 2 months later. I remember him every time I use it.
