Chocolate is too tempting.. and can get messy.. but Red Vines are just fine.. they can stand in my pencil cup just like the pencils and no one sees them standing there! Am I sneaky or what??

Just remember ladies and gentle men, in order to use the saliva trick you must spit out the chocolate first.( or hurry up and swallow it)

Anyone who has a Big Lots store - I just bought a 6" x 24" ruler from them - it is a Martha Stewart ruler for scrap booking or quilting. The best part is that it has a giant clip on pne end so you can clip it to your cutting mat and keep it in place at one end while you hold the other down (it clips from the bottom or top) and it has a raised lip on one edge so that you can't jump the edge and cut your fingers. the markings on it aren't as good as a true quilters ruler but for $4 I thought it was worth trying. I'm taking it to a retreat this weekend and see what my guild members think.

Good tips all. I use one of the rubber finger protectors (purchased in office supply store) for hand quilting. Tried the thin ones made especially for quilting, but found that I shredded those very quickly.

What a great idea! I don't live near the beach, but I raise homing pigeons. Lots of feathers, especially during their molt. :thumbup: I also have a small paint brush in my sewing kit, plus a WetVac and a computer Vac accessory kit to remove dust bunnies from my machine. To help keep rulers from slipping, if you have a hot glue gun, put a dab on each corner. |
