I would sash it in the white/cream to make the hearts float.
Or if you were really wanting to make the quilt fun, set your blocks wonky on a cream background then sash with a darker pink/red.

Sorry to d r a g this post out but I might feel a flicker of hope. Need suggestions for contrast fabric. All help appreciated!

All of you fabrics are blenders, I would go with a bold print. Look for something you like, a floral or geometric, something that will make a statement. Maybe chocolate Valentine’s Day candies???

I have to agree with a bold print...or a plaid....or floral..... nothing that looks "one color" unless you are an amazing quilter that can build prints into your quilting!

Yes, a bold print! And look for a color that will truly separate your blocks. Violet, teal, tangerine, yellow, or maybe even a "flower garden" with several colors. Try colors that don't seem like they would work and you could be surprised.

I like the idea of chocolate brown. I personally love to pair bright lime green with pink. Pick a really fun print. If it were mine, I might use the black and white teapot print I have. You said it's a tea party quilt, right?

Not sure how many blocks you have made but perhaps making the heart patchwork instead of all the components the same fabric would shake this up a bit. When I work with pink, I typically will use green or brown as contrasting fabric.

I like your quilt. Sometimes as we view our projects in the midst of making them, we find out we don't like them or tire of seeing the fabric. However, I have found if you take a break from working on it and come back to it, you see it with fresh eyes. Also, when you add the quilting designs and thread color choices and see the texture added, it takes on a whole new look. Just my 2 cents.

I would go around the hearts with lace to make the top of the heart look rounded. Make it for a little girl. Little girls love lace.
