I am so visual. Send a picture if you can. I think your idea is great. Been struggling with that little quizmo and just dealt with it rather than think out of the box.

My Brother machine has the same thing. Its almost useless , for me anyway. Very hard with old lady fingers. I have a set of screwdrivers I bought when I was working on machines. They are the off set ones.

Google, "Morko throat plate screwdriver" for the perfect tool.

See, if that "thing" had originally been designed by a woman sewist it would have nonstick gripper on it( maybe not green/red- but who cares!). Write the company let them know and some suit will streamline it and get a bonus check!

another solution

I placed one of those self-stick Velcro circles -- about the size of a fingernail -- to the "screwdriver" and the other side of it on my machine. Serves both purposes great: gives me something to hold onto, and I never lose it, since it is so easy to stick it on the velcro when I'm done with it.

For those of you who have the Baby Lock machines and they gave you that 'screw driver thing' [its a circle with an almost screw driver head that extends off it]......like many of you in another thread, I hate it too! until a light bulb came on.

I'd love to see a picture of what you've done, I can't visualize it. Every time I have to use that thing I get irritated all over again!

Ladies I just took a pic and if I can figure out how to post it, I will shortly>

I feel dumber than a post today.........got the pic on my desktop........therein lies the problem. I will try again after I fix hubby his dinner.

Whatever works!

Tiggersmom 09-11-2014 05:30 PM

This isn't working:
I don't get the options this is talking about:

Posting a Picture

To insert a picture in your post, select the “insert image” icon on top of the message box. This icon looks like a framed picture of a tree. Once you select this icon, you have the choice of attaching a file from your computer or entering the url (web address) for the image. Please note that the url must be for the image itself, not the whole website. You can usually get an image url by right-clicking on the picture and selecting “copy image address”.When you add a picture using the url, there is an option below the uploader that reads “Retrieve remote file and reference locally.” This will save the image file to Quilting Board’s servers rather than link to another website. We recommend leaving this option on, so that the other website cannot change or delete your image.
