I would just be happy that someone appreciates something hand made. You still had labor involved rather it was simple or difficult. He was probably delighted to be able to give something so wonderful.

It's pretty and it's personal. Appreciate that proud grandpa sees the value.

I agree with most. Accept the "gift" the gentleman gave you. He asked for "no frills", and he got it. He got it when he asked for it, and you did personalize it. You didn't make plain, really, you made it especially for Evelyn Grace. No other person will have it.

Y r u ashamed? I like it! Simple so won't overwhelm babies developing eyes but colorful for stimulation! I'm gla he paid you more! Too many times people want to give you $20.00. Cause they can go to walmart and buy one on sale!!! You did a great job! Personalized it. It will be special for years to come! Put the money away to buy something for yourself or in a quilting kitty!!

Here is a bad picture of the backing. I think it is so fun. It made me giggle just to see it.
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/a...0124021322.jpg I did finally remind myself what someone told me when I was a teenager. An older gentleman told me what a beautiful girl I was. I argued. He said, "When you argue after someone pays you a compliment you are telling them you don't respect their opinion. Is that really what you want to tell me?" After that I did learn to smile and say, "Thank you" or "I am glad you think so." I applied that in this situations. I do value and respect his opinion. So, I am enjoying the fruits of my labor. I just spent half of it on an order from Superior Threads! |
I agree. Listen to you husband. I think he was happy you were able to do this for him and values your work. Spounds like a wonderful man!

I agree with dublb. Listen to your husband and take it as your due. You did a beautiful job. The gentlemen is satisfied and it is worth it to him to pay you accordingly. |
I agree with your husband. It is refreshing to see that someone values the time, effort and talent involved in making a quilt.

Listen to your husband an accept it gracefully. Clearly Grandpa "gets it" and appreciates you.
Cheers, K |
if you are worried then make him a special lap quilt just for him for being just a wonderful guy.
