I finally got through all the fabric. There was over 3600 yards + 35 sheets.

I went to Iowa and bought from a person on this board. She is a wonderful person and the fabric is great, I have had a really good time going through it.

Lori S 08-21-2012 01:10 PM

Ioftheneedle 08-21-2012 03:06 PM

Like my husband tells me 'You won't live long enough to use up all this'. He's only joking.
My take on this is..... Jesus will come before I use it all up. lol

nhweaver 08-21-2012 03:10 PM

Wow and a fortune in tubs to organize it all. What a tremendous effort, now get quilting!!! (he he)

ArtsyOne 08-21-2012 03:26 PM

Well we're all envious! And what fun you must have had organizing it. Can't wait to see all the wonderful things you'll produce.

SouthPStitches 08-21-2012 03:29 PM

That's not a stash, that's an entire quilt store! What I want to know is how big was your own stash before you hit this mother lode of all fabrics?

sherryt1258 08-21-2012 03:37 PM

Wow!! I cannot imagine sorting thru that stash!! Must have been a ball!!

Sewfine 08-21-2012 03:48 PM

You call this a stash, no this is a fabric store. Enjoy creating, sewing, quilting and whatever it is you do with your fabric while I sit here and drool over this wonderful stash. I am going to since this to my dad.

Latrinka 08-21-2012 07:05 PM

Good googa mooga, that's a lotta fabric!

thanneaKS 08-21-2012 07:39 PM

I'm another gal from Iowa--but I surely don't have that much!!!! Looks like lots of fun, and I love your organization.

Pickles 08-21-2012 08:21 PM

lpsewing 08-22-2012 04:35 AM

You totally win !!!

MaryAnnMc 08-22-2012 04:40 AM

Wowser! I couldn't sue up that much fabric in three lifetimes. Just think of the scrappies you'll be able to make!

zig56gie 08-22-2012 05:23 AM

I am originally from Bethlehem, PA and really miss the area. Now I live in AZ....this horrible desert, but know at
this time we couldn't possibly afford to move back there. Where in the lehigh valley do you live?

I didn't find it in my area either. Hubby and I took the truck and cargo trailer and drove 7 hours one way to pick it up.

I had about a closet full. None of my original stash is in the boxes I posted a picture of.

MaryStoaks 08-22-2012 06:00 AM

Good job organizing! You're welcome to come help me anytime!

fmhall2 08-22-2012 07:30 AM

So sorry zig56gie you feel that way. I lived in Phoenix for over 10 years in two different periods, and although I've been gone from there for over 45 years, I still love it, and I do love the weather, too. I first moved there in 1952.

Robinlee 08-22-2012 07:58 AM

I love your idea of storing them this way, I may need to re-valuate my storage use. I am using totes, but they are the 13 gal, and colored so yo can't see in them, but I do have them marked "quilting" or "fabric".

KathyKat 08-22-2012 08:06 AM

You'll be able to make tons of quilts with that stash!!

rush88888 08-22-2012 08:20 AM

what a haul! now that the fabric is organized, quilt-making could be easier! enjoy!

sharin'Sharon 08-22-2012 08:23 AM

A phone call like that in my household would certainly dissolve a marriage if I would have said 'yes', as I already have many a tote filled with fabric. I don't drive and he certainly wouldn't have driven across town to pick it up, let alone a 7hr one way trip. I salute you for an understanding hubby. I sorted only through my last few years purchases and my DH was in disbelief, although he saw them 'stacked' in the spare bedroom and didn't realize how much it really was after sorting. I admit to being a Fabriholic, but it's bought and paid for. Congrats on your inheritance.

MartiMorga 08-22-2012 08:41 AM

huntersgrammie 08-22-2012 09:53 AM
