Update to Yikes, look what I did!

I couldn't do it, I had to fix it! So I didn't even like the border, so here is what I did. I really like it and it will even be better when it is quilted. Amazing what you can do when you feel better, it really shows in the quilting.
The white border is the one I put the rows on wrong, notice all the yellow rows all on one side. The blue border is the updated and corrected quilt top. Even though it will go to charity I wanted it right. I have yet to quilt it. |
I thought it was pretty before but it looks even nicer now.
ok, now I see what you mean - Looks great!
It looks wonderful! Such pretty colors and so well made.
Much nicer from my perspective!
I do like the border better and I think you did a wonderful job, I thoght your other "design" kind of looked like light and dark so I didn't realize what you found wrong the first time. You are very patient and I do like the second "design"
Can understand why you had to fix it. Sometimes it eats at you until you do. lol.

Glad you are more happy with this result. It will make a great charity quilt.
I am the same way too, there are just some goof-ups I can't live with and must fix. I think your border swap was a good choice, the blue really sets off the colors better than the white. I think it is great that you put as much effort into a charity quilt as you do for a gift or keep quilt. Great job!
it looks great now!
Like the blue border much better than the white one. I'm the same way about correcting mistakes...you always feel much better when you do.
Ok, I didn't get what was wrong the first time either...It has all become clear, this one looks much better! I had a couple really long seams on my first king size quilt that needed to be re-done and I debated for a couple of days...finally did it, and am so glad I did, it would have bothered me forever! Good job : )
The blue border sets off the blocks beautifully. Glad you are feeling better.

Glad you are happy with it now.
Good for you...better to do it the way your conscience dictates than have it subconsciencely bug your forever !!!!!
I agree with you. The first one was OK, but this one is good!
I think you made the right decision even though it was a ton of work. You will be happy with the result and have no regrets. It is much easier to fix the problem before the quilting.
Pretty! :)
I could not see anything wrong with the original , but I do like the "improved" much better.
looks great
The "fixed" one is really balanced and pleasing to the eye. It really is amazing what a few changes can do.
Wow!!!!! What a difference. It really is great now. I'm charity, you could give it to me.
it definitely needed that darker border to STOP the movement and make the eye settle down...I think this is great!
Very Nice you are definitely a 3!!!
Definitely understand now. It looks good and the blue border is better.
I like it with the blue border too, it brings out the colors betterd, I think.
I do like the redo better! Beautiful quilt either way.
Thanks for showing us the re-done quilt. You're like most of us - can't stand to leave an obvious 'mistake' in a quilt. Little ones are ok, but the big ones drive us nuts!
Well worth your effort. Great looking quilt. Glad you are feeling better about it.
I know you feel better about the quilt now. Good for you! Luann
I'm glad you fixed it. That's what I would have done.
Amazing, isn't it, how our brains operate to solve problems? Such a good solution.
the blue border does look better. nice job.
before pretty, now very pretty!
that is great you feel better now !!! i guess you just needed a little push it looks great!!
Good for you... the quilt looks great! The blue border really pulls it all together. I am a firm believer in giving my best effort when providing charity quilts...afterall, where is the charity in making/giving something that we ourselves would not be willing to keep.
Now that was a big uhoh. I'm proud of you for fixing it.
aaah, much better. You were right. Goes to the adage to follow your instincts.
It looks very nice. Nice job or repairing even though the other one wasn't bad. Pretty quilt!
