It seems I am different! I have my fabrics folded & lay them, stacked, sorted by color etc., in closed shelves or drawers.
However, I can see it would be more convenient if they were folded in a uniform manner. Am I the only one that does this? |
It should work okay, but only if you wrap your red fabric around the Republican ones and your blue fabric around the Democratic ones. Actually, here in Northern California, I may even find some Green ones, and the folks in New England may find a few yellow ones (or at least that was the color the news was using for independants last night.

To be on the safe side, cover the printed area with freezer paper first.

I have also heard that they can be used for bag/Purse bottoms

I just use the alaskalady's way of folding fabric. Use my 9*12 ruler and the "board" and turn and turn and turn. No extra cost involved!

I have used those boards for years. I get them when the election is over and that helps clean up the roadway. I cut them in to 9x11 pieces and wrap material around them. Because of the 9 inch side, 4 times around the board equals a yard of material and it is easy to count how much yardage you have.

Signs around here are made of thin plastic sheet stuff, not the corrugated. I've been thinking of cutting up the wire stakes, though, to make new hoops for our croquet set. We have lost some and the wire on the signs I have are actually better quality than the old croquet hoops. I also wish they would come get them. Otherwise, I plan to take 'em to recycling. Had windows installed by Home Depot and they also left a sign in our lawn. That one I plan to return next time I go there, as I don't want it around.

I like the acid free comic book boards. Got them through Amazon. About $8.00 for 100

When I buy fabric, if any empty boards are laying around, usually still on cutting table from other buyers. I ask for them and they always give me what they have. But I found they come in different sizes also... But I like thoses. But I am also reorganizing my fabric, mostly by color and size. Also by 2" strips. Love getting those useful tips from QB quilters, Thank You.

I don't know about using them for that purpose. Why does everyone think they have to use anything in order to store your fabric? I don't use anything. I fold and stack my fabric vertically. My fabric cabinet looks very neat and tidy. More room for fabric. Good luck with your quest.

i like the boards to store my fabric on, rather than fold and stacking because, then when you want a particular color, you don't have to worry about the whole stack falling. or pick up the whole stack just to pull out one piece. i have mine on metal shelving units, but hung an old sheet in front of each one (down in the basement) so the sun light coming in the windows, doesn't fade the material.
