I too use Sharon Schamber's method w/ Elmer's School Glue. It works so slick.

No, I don't take the extra time to glue. I just use binding clips and hand sew my binding down while watching TV

Yep, it works beautifully too. I learned the trick from Sharon Schamber. Figured if she did it on her $100K winner it would be good for my less pricy quilts.

I use Elmer's school glue with a hot iron. It washes out easily and really keeps the binding in place. I was at a quilt store a few weeks ago, taking a lesson and one of the quilts on display, the binding was just glued. The teacher told us since that quilt was only going to be a wall hanging, glueing it was okay, didn't have to worry about it washing out.

I used this one - it REALLY works - and the binding comes out perfect !

I use the Elmers glue stick and have never had an issue with the needle gunking up. I spread it on and iron down the binding...done! It will stay put while you sew, whether it be by hand or machine. When the binding is all done, I throw the quilt in the washer to get that final crinkly look. The glue stick all washes out with no residue. And you can get the glue sticks pretty cheap right now at Walmart....I think I paid $.40 for two so I stocked up.

I sew my bindings on the front and turn to the back and hand stitch down but never use glue or pins, just turn it over when I am ready to stitch it down.Also always miter the corners.

I used fabric glue to bind my second quilt that I made. Maybe I used too much, but it made the edges STIFF. I'll never do that again!
