Thanks,

you would choose them the same way you choose other brands of needles. by size and point required. i don't believe they make a double.

yes, she is correct. If your machine takes a flat shank then get that one.

I get HA X 1 size 80/12 sharp and 75/11 ball point. Look at your needle in your machine, if the part that fits into the hole to tighten it is round, then choose the round shank, otherwise it's probably the flat shank. Also I get the needles for home embroidery machine, but I use them for sewing too.

Hope this helps.

I have a Bernina so I don't know about Brother.

Wow. Thank you. I usually use the Titanium ones and they are only $19.95 for 100 right now. That's awesome.

You are welcome, the titanium will last longer, but then if you break it it won't.

The only needles I saw at allstitch were for embroidery machines. Do you use them for sewing on a regular machine? Do Organ needles come in different applications?

Yes, I use them to sew everything too. They seem to be a little stronger than sewing needles that bend more easily.

I use them in my kenmore and bernina. The lady at the bernina store is the one who told me I can use them for sewing too, she does.

Now if you want a smaller hole, they have sizes smaller than the 75/11 too.

Thank you. Sounds like I should check them out.

You're welcome.

I'm really confused! Went to Allstich.com and it is the commerical machine needles (ball point) that I find are priced 100 for 14.95. The ones for the home machines are listed at 100 for $43.95. What am I missing?

Ok, click on embroidery needles (on left side) then click on 15 X 1 flat shank home. Then on flat shank regular eye. You should come to this page http://www.allstitch.net/department/...-eye-10140.cfm

I get the 5th and 6th ones down.

Does this help?

Definitely! Now, one more question as this needle thing always confuses me. What do I want for regular piecing, quilting, embroidery. I see by the board that some use these for everything, but I never can decide what size...80/12, 75/11. I use gutterman polyester thread for most piecing, Isacord for embroidery. Any guidance would be appreciated.
