Would this help as a center piece? There is another VFW flag made of rayon which might be difficult to sew. I think it was called an altar flag. Look under VFW/flags from the main page. Or you might like this patriotic quilt which was in the Fons and Porter July/August 2010 issue which can still be purchased on their website |
Thanks everyone for your responses, If I use that nylon as maybe an applique, would it last in a lap quilt used for everyday? I really want to find something he can use everyday, and maybe I could use that as a wall hanging centerpiece.

Here's qa suggestion. There are small panels from most of the services available out there, we have several. Take these and one like we had on a banner in classified section for the center and add red, white and blue fabric. That way it would represent all services.
