Sounds like you are having fun and isn't that what we should do......LOL..

That is not a vicious cycle, it is a creative cycle. All is well and as it is meant to be. Hugsssssss and smilesss.

I tend to do a similar thing. But, I find I now have more stash than space. Can I get myself to sell any of my precious fabric? NO! So, I just pile more on top. :-)

I don't see that as a problem, as you are using your stash to good advantage. Works for me.

You don't have a problem----You are a quilter. It is what we do.

OMG, you are NOT alone. When I use a little fabric or fat quarters, I replace it with something "just because I liked the fabric."

Your system sounds fine to me! At least things are moving. I love the idea of quilts as insulation!

I have absolutely no room for any more fabric. I have too many dressers and storage containers. I even have a long dresser with my rectangle ironing board on it for more space to house my fabric. I need to downsize.

MIL gave me an old metal stand that has three shelves and wheels, like what we use to use when BBQing back in the day. It's sitting in the middle of my room full of quilt kits.

I was out of control with my buying, but haven't made any unneeded purchases for a few months and it feels good not buying anything. I went to my fav quilt store a week ago and didn't purchase one thing! I think I retrained my brain somehow. Now I don't want to spend money on fabric. I go in my sewing room and open drawers, cupboards, rubbermaid tubs and feel all my fabric and then I don't feel the need to buy anything.

I have been having giveaways on my blog to downsize. I try to find people who don't have much and give them a box full of fabric and quilt kits. It's hard to do that online, because people misrepresent themselves and I believe they don't have much, but find out later that they have lots of fabric.

I would like to find someone here who needs fabric and quilt kits. Someone who doesn't have much and I would like to share with them. But it's hard to trust that they are being honest. I would like to help a newbie or a retiree who needs fabric and kits.

Doesn't sound like a problem to me.

Here in Wisconsin, piling up fabric against the walls for insulation results in lots of musty and mouldy fabric. I've had a few pieces too close to the walls in winter; now I'm very careful to keep things away from outside walls to let air circulate behind everything.
