I'm not an expert, but I do belong to a list of Sapphire owners so I've read a few things.
You could try a stretch needle, and maybe experiment with the pivot height in the tool box. I don't know which way to set it, though. Just remember to take notes of the original settings before you change them. Which foot are you using? I think the spring free motion foot would be better, because the spring holds down the quilt sandwich more. Janet |

The 10" throat will make fmq/quilting more fun.
I think you might want to consider the 875 if it has the scissors. I have two machines and I really miss those scissors when I am quilting and want to cut threads while I am in the middle of the quilt! Thank you fireworkslover I will try that; I am using the R foot which is the only one I have that does free motion right now - I don't have the open toe; it's on wish list.

Not sure how far you are from Joliet, but I was at Roberts Sewing Center today and I'm pretty sure they had a used Sapphire there. No idea of the price because I wasn't looking :)
In Morris Illinois is Jensen's Vac & Sew. He used to be a Husqvarna dealer but as of recently he is no longer. Check him out too as he might still have a Sapphire there. |
There are some great deals on ebay from dealers but, the reason your getting the better deal is because your not getting the warranty. Thats the deal with Husqvarna if they sell it on ebay.

I absolutely love my Sapphire 835. I picked one up in May for $750...brand new, standard warranty. My dealer told me that her store would only be carrying Vikings until this summer so the few left were at a great price. If I were you, I would offer a lower price and see where it goes. Or as others have said, ask for them to throw in some accessories. The list price on the 835 on the Viking site is $999. My local Joann store is also selling them for that.
