I have a couple of antique collections, but I like using them, and not just showing them... The old canning jars are used for spices, pasta, and anything that I want to keep fresh without using zip lock bags.. The tea towels that are hand embroidered are used in the bathroom, and kitchen.. The kitchenware are used instead of buying new..
Yup.. I use them..

I collect, of all things, yard sticks. The oldest one I have is over a hundred years old.

A lot of things I have and use are "vintage". My step-father was a junk dealer. I got a lot of stuff from him. The bed we sleep in was my husband's grandparents'. The bed my son and his wife have was my grandmother's. I have a lot of dishes and skillets that were my grandmothers' that I still use - my sons would take some of those if I would let them!

We also have a 1929 Ford Model A and a 1949 Ford truck.

I would hazard a guess that there is not a room in my house without something "vintage" in it and probably in use!

I love and collect vintage dishes, especially, Jewel Tea and red catail and I have several pieces. We love to go to resale shops, garage sales and antique malls hunting for a treasure. Yesterday we found a doily stretcher from the
50's for a dollar. They thought it was a dart board. LOL!

.

Wish I had been there. I have lots of crocheted doilies and this would have made stretching and starching a lot easier.

We collected wood sewing boxes before we started collecting vintage machines. The boxes are full of my sewing notions and knitting supplies.

I have some antiques that have been in the family that are sewing related: my bernina 830 record, three dresses from the 1880's, and a wicker pram that hides some of my projects. I began collecting vintage fountain pens when I was teaching, but now I only use the more modern ones since I need permanent ink for work. The rest are in mugs or silver julep cups on my desk.
