Default Vintage vs Vintage

I read through the Vintage section all the time with members posting how great their vintage machines are. And I totally agree. My question is, do you collect other vintage items such as furniture, what-nots, recipe books, old cameras, horned rim glasses, etc?

I have several older machines, I seam to collect anything that catches my intrest, I have several old Irons not all electric, have one that belonged to my great grandmother, my grandfather brought it from Denmark when he emigrated to use it you must fill it with hot coals, works pretty good too. LOL I also collect old kitchen ware, like silver ware, kitchen equipment, love my older furnature, desk, chairs, cabnets.

Sewing machines have been the first, and so far only, vintage item I've collected.

Old family furniture, old books, old family silver, and an old house (for my area!)

I've become very nostalgic about the '30s to the '50s. I have been buying little childrens' books, buttons, doll house furniture, shelves, rayon seam tape, clothes pins (plastic) and a few other things. I even have a cute high chair with decals on it in my sewing room!

I am also drawn to vintage things from my family pieces to older prints. When I look around my house, I guess it is more about the memories attached to all the pieces. Memories of the person or memories of the "hunt" looking for a particular piece.

No, because I am at a stage in my life where "I can't have nice things", because of a teen son and too many indoor animals. I would love to replace our Microfiber couches with something heavy and antique. I do have a few old (antique?) dressers, but I didn't get them because they were antiques, but because they were cheap and wood! I would love to have a great big old bedroom suite, but with cats... no thanks!

My husband collects antique/vintage/old shaving stuff and we enjoy shopping at antique stores. I love looking at the stuff they have!

Only pink depression glass. If I could, I'd have a house full of it.
