Good morning everyone.

Lena, sorry for your lose. Our 4 legged family members add so much to our lives. They are a God send.

Well I’m in this weekend. I plan to machine bind 3 quilts, quilt 2 tops for a friend, and start sewing on Brenda’s, Spring Fling string mystery QAL from Conquering Mount Scrapmore from Facebook. We just started week 4. I figure I can get rid of some of my scraps & strings. Hopefully I will make a king size, ( ~90”L by 120”w), not then a twin size, ( ~ 75” by 9-0”). In really, if I get 1/2 of the above done I will be excited. So I guess I should get off of here.

Have a great Memorial Day and weekend.

Yea! I'm here on the right dates.

Today started last night. Momma cat had to be without food while her kitties can eat. Pick up kitty food so she can see/nurse, then isolate momma so kitties can eat. Meanwhile Yarley is climbing my design wall. Finally everyone settled so I can sleep. Early morning it's clean up after kitties, feed. Pack up everyone for vet trip. Crying cat/kitties, I'm exhausted. Vet called to pick up cat family. Then it's a nap. No more kitty litters. There's 4 boys and 1 girl. They've had first round of shots. I love them all. Three must go, breaking my heart.

So late afternoon I can sew.

Looking forward to sharing another sewing weekend, thank you for remembering, even though you are in the midst of moving! My friend is coming for a few hours of hand stitching this afternoon , and tomorrow I plan to go to a guild sew day. This is not a holiday weekend here, but no worries, every day is a holiday when you are retired 😀

Raggiemom: Wishing you a safe move and a smooth adjustment to your new home.

Lena1952: It’s hard to lose a furry friend.

I plan to finish a quilt top. I have the rows sewn together and the sashings are ready to go.

Most of the day was spent on the kitties. Did take a nap. They were still napping and then GI problems. It's almost midnight and they're getting active.

Making a little progress on the quilt. Donated scraps don't match my style of print/color.

Lena, I totally feel your pain. I lost both my beloved pets in 2024. We had to have our rescue cat put to sleep on Grounghogs Day as her feline leukemia finally took the fight out of her. Our little Yorky had diabetis and suffered a stoke in October and died in my arms. My house is so empty.
As for the VQW, I'm going to be cleaning out some of my stash and getting ready to sell it off. I'm overwhelmed with the amount of my stash. Already sold off layer cakes and jelly rolls yesterday.

Time for a break -- first off my tea is out and secondly I made a mistake I have to take out. Lucky for me is only 4 seams about 3.5" or so long. Right pieces, wrong placement.

And that's better than the other night -- I was freaking out on "how could I do that so wrong" and took off a seam... only to realize that I was looking at a similar but different piece on the pattern and after I took them off I had to put them all back on exactly as they were...

I've been writing all over the pattern my fabrics are which and I'm confident that my cutting is now at least correct. But still an amazing number of ways to put two pieces of fabric so they go together but are still incorrect!

Sorry for your loss, Lena. It's hard.
I spent most of Friday starching strips to make 5" squares. Since I don't have much scrap stash, I cut off 6"+- pieces from regular stash! Plan to finish cutting squares and making the 3-square sets to start blocks. I did get the idea from the video in the Tutorials thread. The 5" square ruler from Amazon arrived, which was as helpful as I envisioned.
I have to cut triangles, which I have never done! Not as easy as I thought it would be.

Good morning, yesterday I spent the morning giving my featherweight a good cleaning and oiling. I noticed the last seam I did at the cabin had birds nests on the back ugh. For some reason the tension got off, but she is purring along now. I have the center of the lap quilt done and just have to do the 3 borders and a good press before it goes back to the designer. DH is up at the VFW this morning, for some reason they are doing instillation at 9AM on a holiday weekend???? Well I have quiet time.

Happy sewing everyone.

Hey all. I'm lurking this week end. I have been playing on my Amara and having a blast!

Just wanted to say, Iceblossom, your wild fabric looks like graffiti. Very neat!! I think you could have gone with the hot pink for the wall tops too. Years ago, I fell in love with the Labyrinth Walk pattern but not the size. I ended up resizing the blocks to 17ish inches I think. I used black, two greys and a white to make a 25 block king size. There's a pic on the board someplace, I know. Just take your time with Block B. Lay it all out, step back and look for the shadows. Looking forward to seeing your finished product.
