Thanks for the kind words, Toogie and QuiltBaer.

We had that thread about is it the pattern or the fabric that moves you -- I've had the pattern for years but when I saw the wild agate something in me said I want that! And it was on sale! Still expensive to me, $7.50 a yard but the excitement was worth it. Was one of my eQuilter specials.

I'll be setting up a thread about the Labyrinth Walk pattern, I know many of us have done them or have them on the bucket list and that we have many different interpretations. As I work with it I come up with ideas and improvements or changes. I know some people made an actual path to follow, I'm ok with the idea of these being from tiles.

The pattern is still readily available from many sources. Can also find the yardage, but if you buy basically 3 yards of each fabric, you won't have too much left over. With the package directions the dark is slightly more than 3 (3-1/8th) but also includes the binding. The thing is we (or at least me) see the image as basically 3 colors -- light, medium, and dark. But really you have light - medium light - medium dark - and dark so 4 colors.

If I have them right, first picture is the 4th quarter, and 2nd shows what I'll be doing for the rest of the day (in between furniture moves).

This is what I've been working on this weekend, but it's going in time out. I don't need it until Christmas.
I really like this pattern, but I really wish solid fabrics didn't ravel so much!

Great job! Why is it going in time out?

Here is the finished top for my nephew's graduation quilt. He is a fisherman so, he gets fish. ;) I did not get as many wonky stars finished as planned this weekend. None today but perhaps a couple more yet this evening.

Thimblebug, I need to decide on border fabric for the quilt. I would really like something besides a black solid. Today I'm going out of town with a friend. We're going fabric shopping so I will look for my border. Also, I'd like to make this same quilt, in red, white. blue and gold, as a QOV for our presentation in November.

Quiltbear, your quilt would be a perfect choice for a QOV! I actually thought it was R/W/B when I first saw the thumbnail photo.

On your current effort I would add a narrow red border then the white. I agree black would not be my first choice, it seems "heavy" in this instance. Have fun shopping for the perfect option.

Such lovely things were made while I was away this weekend! I didn’t get to do any sewing but sure enjoy seeing what everyone is working on.

Thank you for the kind words on the loss of my fur family. Getting away was just what I needed. Although I will admit, the first thing I did when I got back home was to look for her in her sleeping bed. I also checked for her first thing the next morning too. You don’t realize how much they affect your daily routine until the routine ends. I’m doing well as I know she is no longer in pain and I will adjust to a new routine soon. Again, many thanks for your kind words.

Well darn, something didn't look right because it wasn't right! I had made one of the subunits incorrectly for the fourth quarter. There is a dark triangle where it should be a medium dark.

Nice thing is it was only 4 pieces and an easy fix. Just put me slightly behind my schedule but I have my sewing group today.

Qbaer, I love your quilt. I, too, thought of a small red border, followed by the gray?
Ice, labyrinth is on my list! yours is inspiring!
WMU, nice fish and stars! Love the wonky!
Lena, totally understand having to change your routine.

I have my monthly sewing day today! I've been matching up light and dark squares/triangles for each block and marking their centers. I have officially cut triangles!! Hope to have pictures at end of day.
Raggiemom, thanks for hosting another get together!

Lots of wonderful things happened, loved the photos and descriptions.

Me, life happened a little too much this past weekend. Once I got the featherweight happy I managed to have about 30 minutes of sewing time before DH came back from the VFW. A quick lunch then back to sewing? Nope, we talked about when to go to the cemetery, and decided that Saturday would be the quietest. My parents and some of our friends are buried at Ft. Snelling cemetery which is a military cemetery. On the way home we went to our local cemetery and saw other friends and neighbors. Good day for a cry but very little sewing happened. Sunday I managed to get the top to the last border, and a few more feet of binding hand stitched. Monday, more visiting some relaxing but I did get time to finish the top and did get it pressed. Yesterday after cleaning and sorting at moms house for a few hours, I started cleaning the threads so I can send it to the designer so she can quilt it. Sorry no pictures until it's published, but it is a nice size and goes together quickly.

Heather thanks for the VQW and hope your move continues to be smooth.
