Some time over the weekend I want to figure out a border for my log cabin blocks I just made at retreat this week. Here it is so far. No sewing this morning, as I want to get out and scrub the front deck so the chairs can be placed. Thanks for hosting, and look forward to seeing and hearing how the weekend of sewing goes for everyone.

I'm partially in, I have some house cleaning to do before our dinner on Sunday as we have a friend coming over.

I have a few projects to do this weekend most are for church. I have some 10 1/2 inch squares from the church stash. I'm trying to do a "around the world" pattern, I have everything laid out so it's ready to sew. I also have a four patch made with two charm packs that I have in rows already that need horizontal sashing and borders. I also have a binding project, but don't think my fingers are healed enough to do any hand stitching.

Sewed early am. Then daughter and I poured concrete. Finished the pour. Just need to wait and remove frame. Watered all plants-took about 2 hours. Think I got sunburned. Itchy, not warm. Exhausted. Need shower and dinner. Then decide. Tomorrow will be more sewing. Sunday is Easter.

Don't know how to post pictures with new computer. Next week maybe daughter can show me.

I'm in but not sure what I'll be working on, it will all depend on my mood. I do have an applique I've been working on and I need to start putting Indigo Way together and there is also my Maxine UFO to get into a flimsy. Work has been stressful this past week so I really do need my sewing time.

Petthefabric Do you want to come over and help us with our concrete job????

I managed to finish the church quilt today even with DH coming home early from work. I tried the webbing method to assemble. I don't think I will do that again. To much fabric once the rows are done. I will check in tomorrow, happy sewing.

Dedemac, I love webbing but only when it is with in a block. I tried a quilt and got all mixed up and had to redo most of what I had done. Certainly did not save me time or thread. ;) Sewing by row or column works better for me for a bed quilt. I have a quilting friend who is a webbing pro. It is like magic to watch her but my wand is bent or cracked or maybe just broken. Doesn't work well for me either.

I have all the Cleopatra's Fan Blocks finished and laid out ready to add setting triangles tomorrow. Yeah!!

I got my back(s) done. The red one will be the back for my "Christmas String" which was the first project I did in Illinois, mostly when we lived in the mobile home before we moved into the house, although the completed picture is in the new house.

First picture shows the flaws, I will have to trim off the selvedge issues now that I am sewn. Second picture shows the top seam. In case you are wondering, since my weight loss my wedding ring is now on my index finger. Third picture is the top. With this back ready, that means all my completed tops do have backs!

I will make the binding out of the WoW fabric used for the background.

I googled "webbing method to assemble" but still do not understand.
Thimble, love the log cabin with the flowers!
Iceblossom, love everything about your quilt, the border is my favorite. My wedding ring doesn't fit on my index, yet!
Yesterday, I worked on the surfer girl applique quilt until DH wanted to go to the island for fresh seafood. We went early because of Good Friday and the high demand during lent. I worked some more in the afternoon. I used my sit down longarm to outline the hair, and my good ole domestic Bernina for the straight and serpentine lines. Today, I plan to stitch the stippling that I drew out yesterday, and finish the water/wave lines.
I am leaving the tan flesh for last because I don't know how I want to quilt it. Help! with suggestions!!

Aashley333, here is Quiltville’s description of webbing. I use it for blocks, but get a tangled mess when I tried a few times on a complete quilt top,

and here she is webbing her County Clare quilt

@Iceblossom I had seen your description of the printing error, fabric folds. Of course you want to cut that off. Lovely pattern match!

@aashley333 Do you take suggestions? What about slightly darker tan thread in tiny circles. On her shoulders, really circle into the centers to make sun-kiss freckles. I mean, we know it is sun damage, but I'd think surfer girl would probably be in the sun that much. You could play with it on scraps to see if you like it before putting it on the quilt itself.

VQW-I sew more on my regular days than I sewed yesterday. I'd had a few nights of wake middle of night/extremely early, so I made myself lay low, and ended up taking a good nap. I also had challenged myself to clean/organize in my sewing space, and I spent a good while on that.

Jessica Dayon's blue challenge (you-tube). She'd given her block layout & ending size at the beginning. Just cuz I roll kinda crazy, I'd re-drawn the layout, adding blocks for a larger quilt. One thing I'd pondered was a drunkard's path star. I have accuquilt 4" finish dies. I cut & sewed 16. I didn't have any 16" blocks in my drawing, 18 & 15 yes. My plan for the challenge is to use all cut up cotton shirts for the fabrics. Since the selected fabrics were a various weights & "hands", the blocks didn't turn out equal, I'd realized that a trim from 4-1/2" to 4-1/4" would give me a 15" block, so I did that & really like how it turned out.

Star Climber, had a couple of log cabins that were nearly done, so laid four logs for a 2 block finish.
