cindi, you were just up the road when you were at Fabric Shack! I tried talking my husband into going up today since it was so beautiful but he hates shopping. The Deb Tucker lesson was very interesting and I have two blocks to make before next month's lesson. We spent the day doing some stuff around the house and then I've been doing some cleaning/sorting in the sewing room. Still have more to do though. Then hopefully tomorrow afternoon after church and grocery shopping, I can sew some blocks to catch up with the blocks of the month. And take pictures!

Looks like many are making progress this weekend. I had to work yesterday but spend a couple of hours working on my last 6 blocks of Judy's Mystery Train 16. I will finish piecing them today so I can assemble the top. I got behind the last clue last Saturday because I was in NYC on a business trip.
We are supposed to get another foot or more of snow beginning this afternoon here on the coast of Maine so I'll have no excuse to get a few things stitched together. |

Here is a baby quilt I am working on to gift to my sister who is becoming a grandmother for the first time soon. Just need to sandwich and quilt!
And here is my new (to me) chair - doesn't it look perfect for some hand sewing? The color is a little brighter than the picture. |

Have you heard the sound a Singer 66 treadle makes? Just 'tickety, tickety, tickety'... totally hypnotizing. So quiet yet precise... and no motor noise to compete with the mechanical sounds. I just love mine. The bobbin winder on them is like a fine clockwork mechanism.

Love that Baby quilt Quilting Vagabond! your new chair looks very comfy.
Here's the finished UFO I've been working on this weekend. I ripped out the old quilting from the fish and the purple areas and requilted, then sewed on some hanging corners. In the pic I've got it pinned to my design wall, but it is now hanging in the bedroom over the mantlepiece and is officially off the UFO pile! Now to see if I've got what it takes to work on the other UFO I'd pulled out.... or maybe I'll try to get caught up on my temp quilt. Still need to do Feb. 1-11.... Rob:sew::sew::sew: |
LOVE your combo of batiks and fish, Rob! And that block is super pretty.
QV, I want that chair and ottoman! Looks great for anything... sewing, reading, TV, sleeping... The baby quilt is great. The mixture of brights and black and white are really working! Love it. |

Hi girls! I went this morning to a library book sale. I got two grocery bags full for ten dollars. All having to do with quilting and machine embroidery work. 26 books and 36 magazines. It was so very fun and I got a few I had never seen before I think will be helpful.
I am working now on a modern quilt done with batiks. A very easy pattern with a log cabin type outside border. I love these colors of greens muted blues and neutrals. I only have to finish the cutting of the sashing strips and make those to be able to assemble the top. All of the logs are finished and pressed. This one is for our family room. It will be a first to keep something for myself. By the way, I love all of the projects you gals have shared. And I want a chair and foot stool like that. It looks so cozy! |

Sorry I missed this thread until tonight, for some reason I was thinking it was next week-end. But...I did a lot of quilt things anyway. Yesterday was my Lucy Boston Club meeting (Patchwork of the Crosses). Put together the 1st corner, still have some edge pieces to add.
Today I quilted on a UFO graduation gift for a step grandniece. It is a split Dresden. Also cut out the 1st month for a Mystery BOM from our Guild. Will need to make 36 1/2 square triangles to be finished for this month. Two of the fabrics I'm using. I enjoyed looking at everyone's projects and hearing about all the plans. (The Longarmer story was a little scary. Glad "All's well that ends well".) hope to catch you next month. gi |
Thanks for the photos everyone. Managed to attach a binding by machine so hope to start the hand stitching on it tomorrow.
