I know that I say this a lot but, Quilting Vagabond #144, that is some kind of gorgeous

Thank you Raggiemom for hosting the thread once again. I am starting to hand sew the binding and really wanting to finish before tomorrow with one of the machine quilted charity. Hope everyone's holiday was as good as the weather was. Thanks to all that served our country.

Happy sewing everyone

The poppy pin I made my hubby was mostly received with confusion today... and he wore it to the VA hospital! People asked what it was, what it was for, said they never heard of a poppy representing the fallen.... The ignorance is staggering.

In England it's so common, and I know in Australia too. And we've heard that they do it in NZ and Canada... so it's a British thing. Everywhere under the Queen... But I remember the paper poppies here too when I was a kid. You give a few pennies to someone collecting for the American Legion and they gave you the paper poppy to wear. Americans seem to have forgotten the poppy and what it stands for. One guy even asked my husband if he was advocating for opium use! Can you imagine how stupid???? :D :D :D

ANYWAY, Quilting Vagabond, can't leave this thread without saying how amazing your quilt center turned out. I don't even know how you managed to find all those colors so perfectly shaded. And your piecing is to die for. Mine will never look like that!

Goodnight all, and I'm happy we all remembered what this holiday was about. Thank you Raggiemom, for the thread. I always enjoy it so much.

Sewbizgirl #159, I know this not the platform for this discussion but, I totally agree with you. I'll say this that I am a true believer that 'if we fail to teach our history that we are doom to forget it.'

As you say, ANYWAY, I did finish hand binding the mint green charity quilt that I machine quilted on the domestic. So, one completed and one to go.

Happy sewing day

Try to submit pix w/o GDG, and the second is shown first and the first is shown last. But, they are finished. Return to hand quilting and then I will work on another project getting ready for June's VQW.

Cherrybsixty, love the rose quilt with the polka dots.

Thanks Ube Quilting #155, I was attracted to the color of the red roses and the mint green, stubbles upon the fabric at 'WALMART,' a couple years ago. I like it so much I purchased enough to make me a quilt for my queen size bed. But, have never started it. That may be my project for the June VQW, yeah.

Happy Sewing everyone
