What is your recipe?

I've gotten it through Joann's (onine only), quilting-warehouse.com, amazon (I have a prime membership, so shipping is free)... Just depends on who's got a good deal when I need it. I don't wait until I'm out, when my gallon bottle is getting low, I start looking for sales.

I got tired of paying so much for BP, and shipping is way too expensive for me to order online. I just buy the cheapest vodka and dilute it 50/50 with tap water. You might be able to dilute it more, but 50/50 is what I do and it works great. My nose & allergies really can't handle the strong scents of most commercial sprays (even BP) and this easy peasy "recipe" works great for me. It's not sticky, there is no alcohol smell, it's a perfectly clear solution, and it presses just as well as BP. I don't drink alcohol at all either but I buy lots of vodka (for my sewing room)!

My name is Mary Ellen! I am not affiliated with the press stuff. I have to admit that I have been on occasion pretty stiff on the vodka but I try to stay away from the iron and quilting when that happens. If I have some vodka, cheap or not, I can think of better uses that spraying it on fabric, that's for sure. I am willing to experiment in any number of ways with the stuff but I'd rather mix it with a dash of ___ than anything! :D:D

Boy if I was in our winter home in Arizona I'd be up for the challenge. Booze is so expensive here in the great white north that I'll have to wait to hear the results. As I get holder I find I'm really sensitive to smells. At retreats and sew in's when people start using smelly spray starch it makes me noxious. I know I'm not alone in this.

I hope to try the Vodka idea soon. I use Niagra but the smell can be overwhelming. I actually liked Faultless but hated using an aersol product.

I guess the only problem with the Vodka is you can't really travel with it- at least not in states that don't allow opened containers in cars. If you have a trunk it probably isn't a problem.
