I like the blue also

Conartist1945 02-28-2015 02:00 AM

I think the blue looks nicer

zozee 02-28-2015 02:44 AM

Hands down, blue!!! The gold takes away from the purity of the white snow. The green feels too dominant to me, but the blue ties it all together, keeps it cool and wintry.

zozee 02-28-2015 02:47 AM

I love, love, love the sashing fabric and all your blue backgrounds. They remind me of winter moonlight. Those snowmen are darling. The scarves are great. Good work!

jahaper 02-28-2015 02:48 AM

I vote for Blue

I like both colors, but I agree with Irish Gal. It makes the snowmen stand out more.

Green gives it contrast and blue gives it a continuous color flow. It depends on the outcome you are looking for.

marymay 02-28-2015 04:20 AM

Both are beautiful. I would pick the blue.

Texas_Sue 02-28-2015 04:20 AM

Have you tried it with the gold inner border and the blue outer border? Just a thought.

JaniceP 02-28-2015 04:28 AM

I vote for blue.

Reba'squilts 02-28-2015 04:31 AM

Blue for me!

Seaside gal 02-28-2015 04:48 AM

I greatly prefer the blue. It keeps with the theme of winter. With the green and gold I worry that the snowmen might melt and disappear. Long live the snowmen because they are so cute and as we all know snowmen are fragile. They need all the icy blue to stay alive.

illinois 02-28-2015 05:04 AM

I don't care for the green/gold. (You know what causes yellow snow, don't you?) If it's between the 2, I prefer the blue but there's something that doesn't let that one "pop". Is it the gray? Have you tried a bit of red somewhere in this border? Maybe one of those skinny flange sorts of trims between the outside gray and blue?

bookworm22 02-28-2015 05:23 AM

As so many others too I love the blue one. Makes it looks more "winterly" and icy.

PS Stitcher 02-28-2015 05:42 AM

Blue is my vote!

sinceresissy 02-28-2015 05:45 AM

Blue for me.

sewbizgirl 02-28-2015 06:10 AM

For me, the blue is a bit of 'blue overload'... what with the snowman backgrounds all being blue. It makes the quilt look 'flatter' and less dimensional, without much contrast. Go green or any other color that is in the quilt. How about picking up one of the dark reds?

klutzyquilter 02-28-2015 06:32 AM

Love your snowmen. I vote for the blue .... with it the quilt says "cozy on a cold winter evening" .... green says spring is here. But, I live in Los Angeles where we don't have snow and thus I dream of a cozy winter evening !

Vat 02-28-2015 06:45 AM

I think the blue. Be sure to use a darker blue for the binding , to stop the eye.

w1613s 02-28-2015 07:05 AM

Blue!

The above message has been found to be too short so I am lengthening it. Me? Wordy me? Too short? Well, I never.

Is it okay now?

Pat

cpcarolyn 02-28-2015 07:08 AM

I vote for the blue.

EmiliasNana 02-28-2015 07:12 AM

I prefer the blue also.

paoberle 02-28-2015 07:36 AM

The blue is definitely it ,

MargeD 02-28-2015 07:50 AM

Either choice is good, however, I like the blue, especially with the grey sashing; but both are nice. That probably didn't help much did it?

Mariah 02-28-2015 08:00 AM

I prefer the Blue. It looks more natural and nature-friendly. Mariah

bearspaws 02-28-2015 08:26 AM

I like blue!!

Friday1961 02-28-2015 08:30 AM

I like the sashing in Pic 1 and the border in Pic 2. The brighter sashing sets off the blue in the blocks perfectly, I think, while the sashing in Pic 2 is a little too cool and brings the entire quilt down a bit. Either border works, I think but the blue feels more wintery to me and picks up the blue blocks a bit better.

I like the green for the contrast it provides. Lovely quillt..

CAS49OR 02-28-2015 09:01 AM

I like the second one. The green would be ok too if you used a silver inner border as in the second one. In fact it would pick up bits of green in the quilt, like the scarves. I think it is the "warm" color of the inner border on the first one that's throwing it off for me. Snow is cold, brrr! Even on bright sunny winter days it seems the sun has a white light rather than an orangey light.

IBQUILTIN 02-28-2015 12:46 PM

I personally like the blue also, but it is definitely your choice. Whichever you decide will be cute as can be, so just pick one and enjoy the process.

delores41 02-28-2015 12:47 PM

I like the green. Green makes the snowmen pop and stand out. Love your snowmen!

Morag 02-28-2015 12:50 PM

Blue is better.

mjkgquilt 02-28-2015 02:06 PM

I think the Blue looks better with the Snowmen.

wendiq 02-28-2015 04:20 PM

Blue! Blue! Blue!

wildyard 02-28-2015 04:51 PM

I love the gold sashing, I think it adds "light", but I like the blue and green equally for the outer border. I do not care for the pale blue sashing as I feel it kind of washes out the body of the quilt.

debbieoh 02-28-2015 05:09 PM

These are EQ5 versions of the quilt. It will actually have different snowmen. I'm just trying to see what looks good.

Jackie R 02-28-2015 05:26 PM

Blue looks better to me - it compliments the quilt squares.

quiltykim 02-28-2015 08:39 PM

Love the blue border!

Cybrarian 02-28-2015 08:58 PM

I agree with Wildyard- I like the gold sashing, but blue would be my 1st choice for the border.
