Vote For the Border
2 Attachment(s)
My snowman quilt will have a lot of blue. Every block has a blue background. I have been debating with myself whether I want to go with gold and green for sashing and borders, or stay in the direction of blue.
These are EQ5 versions of the quilt. It will actually have different snowmen. I'm just trying to see what looks good. |
Both are great -- personally, I like the green -- provides contrast plus reminds me that the forest gets snow, and therefore -- snowmen!
I like the blue better. You will probably get about an equal number of votes for each one so it will really come down to which one YOU like best
I think the blue is far better than the green....
I love, love, love number two-it's perfect!!
I vote for the blue one~
I vote for the "Blue". I think the blue version is much nicer. BTW, I love your snowmen.
The blue one gets my vote.
Blue does it for me.
I like matchy-I prefer the blue :-)
Both match the fabrics very well, however, I like the green with beige sashing. It makes the whole quilt lighter and not so dark and wintry as the blue. If the area in your house where you plan to use it is dark, then I would definitely opt for the green. If you have tons of light coming in, then the darkness of the blue won't be as gloomy looking.
I like the blue. It looks more wintery with the blue.
i like the green
My vote is for the second one.
I like the blue....
Maybe wait until you have all your blocks done to see what would look best with the accessories you're making for your snowmen? Or decide now and then use some of those fabrics as scarves/hats/etc. in the blocks to tie things together. When I made my Snowman Collector I used golds and greens for the borders but it also had multi-coloured sashings.
I vote for the blue.
Greengreengreengreengreen!
Dh, ds and I vote for the green. Blue is beautiful but the green and gold "sings". Lovely by the way, either way.
I like the blue better. There's nothing wrong with having more blue. (Can you tell it's my favorite color?!) Personally, I find the green a bit jarring. But as Quiltaddict says, it all comes down to what you feel most comfortable with.

I like them both, but I am partial to blue so...
Love the blue! So pretty :) either will be lovely though
definitely the blue
i like the green... as long as you have at least the 3 green scarves
Blue for me too!
I like the blue.
I like the blue. It's a very pretty quilt!
I like the blue. When I see snowmen, we don't usually see grass.
I feel the green gives a traditional look and the blue more contemporary. Let us know what you decide (looks great by the way).
I vote for blue.
To me, the green looks like warm weather and the snowmen should be melting |
I vote for the blue.
I'm voting for the gold/green combo. It makes the snowmen pop.
My vote is for blue. :)
I vote blue with light sashing. Looks like a really fun quilt to piece :)

Either one looks good to me. Just use whatever you like best.
It seems the blues are ahead. Granted these are fabrics that are in my EQ5 and not my sewing room, but I am pretty sure that I can purchase something close to these when I make my decision. Still on the fence myself, but plenty of time before I get to that point.
I like the blue
Doesn't EQ make choosing fabric and accessories so easy !!! I prefer the blue too.
I actually like to gold inner border better than the "gray/silver".....but the blue outer border better than the green. There....i have been of no help whatsoever !!! It will be a lovely snowman quilt whichever you decide.
I like the green and gold I think it makes the snow man pop out.
