I had a panel, and planned to just "turn" it so i didnt neeed to put a binding on...was going to be a simple wall hanging.
Anyhow.......I forgot to put it in the right order in order to do this, and did a normal quilt sandwich. After i quilted it.....i realized i couldnt turn it!! (dont sew when you are tired LOL) So.....now it needs a binding.......but how do i put tabs on top to make it a wall hanging???????? Do i need tabs?????? How do you hang your wall hangings??????? Ive never made a sleeve..is that what i need to do??????? inquiring minds need to know!!!!! :) Kim |
Possibilities ...
* a sleeve * tabs (as you mentioned) * a sleeve with a split in the centre, then put on one of those picture hangers to hang it on a nail * corner triangles that hold a dowel or piece of wood to hang from (my favourite lately, for wall hangings) All can be done before you put on the binding. |
this website does a good job explaining the corner triangles. I agree that I like it for hanging wall hangings.

I am excited about the corner triangles, just learned that a few weeks ago and have not used it yet!!!

In the past I have done them all including just bind it and uase a small curtion rod mounted on the wall with rings that clamp onto your wall hanging. It worked for me!LOL

make your tabs- put them onto the front-raw edges together with top of wallhanging (tabs laying down toward the bottom) baste into place- apply binding -when you turn the binding to the back to hand stitch the tabs will -stand up- then you can topstitch to keep them standing
