I have been looking as I traveled and I thought it might be helpful to post those WalMarts that currently have fabric for sale by the yard. I'll start. (Craftybear or some of you other web savvy folks may know a better way to post this.)
Washington, NC Bought lovely spring prints there about 6 months ago and have shopped there several times since for fabric. |
WM fabric dept in Denham Springs, La is now up and running.
They've already run out of LSU fabric (cotton). |
Ours in Council Bluffs, Iowa has a small fabric dept.

Several in Ft Wayne, In have fabric

Our Lebanon, Oregon store has a fabric dept and there are some nice fabrics. but it is usally a mess.

Colonial Heights, VA's Walmart is steadily getting fabric put out.

At least six Walmarts in the Jacksonville, FL area have fabric by the yard. Several in Gainsville, Fl do also.

I found out that you have to be very picky with the material. I bought a pannel their and it had tinny holes and the material had marks in it that didn't belong there. Had to buy more material and make it all over. That time I checked out the material first in detail. Must have been seconds.

East side Walmart in Norman, OK has fabric by the yard. The west side Walmart (just off of I-35) does not.

The Walmart in Mountain Home, Arkansas has a fabulous and large new fabric department.

The one on Military Hwy in Norfolk, VA, we have 2; never lost ours. It's the only one in the area that does fabric and it's been like that for years.
And because I was there a couple of months ago. Buchannon WV has been able to keep their fabric the whole time even though they had cut back some |
Really, that surprises me that the east side of Norman got one before the west side!

Arnold, Missouri Wal Mart is setting up their fabric Dept. I went yesterday and bought 22 yd.s for two quilt backings, black.

Homosassa and Inverness in Citrus County, Florida never lost their fabric departments. The fabric is sort of iffy but if you look you can still find good stuff. Not sure about the one almost to Ocala.

The 3 Walmarts in the Clearwater FL area still haven't gotten fabric back. When we went to visit my inlaws last week - about 25 miles north of us in New Port Richey(Walmart never lost their fabric) - I was very disappointed in the selection - looked like there was a lot less fabric - then in previous visits

W.Burlington,Iowa WalMart has a small assortment of bolt fabric and quite a few pre cuts. They have gotten back an expanded supply of notions.

Winfield Kansas Walmart has a large fabric selection.

Paducah, Ky has one with fabric and Murray, Ky has fabric, but it is all over the place. You want to go in there and straighten it all up.

Big Flats NY just off I-86. Nice selection of fabric, nice discounted table, fair amount of notions.

Wake Forest, NC. 40 mins from me so I'm waiting to see if Durham, NC gets it back.

O.k. in Eastern TN we have bolt fabric, precuts, and more! in:
Johnson City (Brown's Mill Road location) and it is GROWING the week of Labor Day! Adding a LOT more! Also: the one is Elizabethton,& Colonial Heights, & Unicoi (Erwin area), & Bristol TN and VA all still have fabric. |
Two Walmarts in Findlay,Ohio one never lost its fabrics and they say its going to expand. Don't go to the one that lost their fabric dept. Would rather go where the fabric is.

Dodge City Kansas, but the bolts of fabric are just stacked in a way that is very difficult to browse through them. I walked away because there was nothing inviting or imaginative about that section of the store.

Lee's Summit, Missouri bolt fabric is arriving daily - not set up yet, still stacked in aisles.
