Yes, I make these too and they work great - my in-laws love them - I've never had a problem with any catching fire - of course I use all cotton everything when making them.

I paid $10 for a Buckeye one. Then I figured out how to make them for a couple of bucks.

This may be an old thread but it is the first time I have seen it. Like it when old threads come around again as I can't get on here daily to check to see the different topics. Loved the info and will making some of these.

where does one find the tutorials?

They are quick and easy to make. Every thing must be 100% cotton, batting, thread and fabric, anything else will melt. They are basically two square pieces of fabric, one square of batting. You make darts on each side of the fabric and batting, then put right sides together, sew and turn right side out. I use mine all the time

I made 2 at a LQS class and have purchased materials to make one for each family member for Christmas presents this year. They are wonderful gizmos!!
