We use them for quilt centers and add blocks, strips, sashings, etc around them to get them to the size we need to donate. Just seldom find them at garage sales.

There's a whole section here on the board dedicated to these. If you go here http://www.quiltingboard.com/virtual_section_list.jsp and look about half way down the list, you'll see the topic heading which gives lots of information about all different types of kaleidoscopes.

I personally love these because this is a technique rather than a pattern - you get to have real creative input when making them, and you never know exactly how they'll turn out so the actual process is enjoyable rather than just being a race to the finish. :-D

:oops: Just realised this thread is from October LAST year! That will teach me to go straying into unknown sections of the board - I got here from a thread asking about My Pages via Craftybear's User Page - saw the month and though it was a current thread! :lol:
