Do you have the correct walking foot for your machine? Not all generic walking feet will work on every machine (Husqvarna & Bernina only take their own). Thankyou ladies I am working through all your suggestions I have the proper foot for my machine, it is attached properly, as a last resort I will go and see the lady in the shop where I bought my machine take my quilt along and no doubt the problem will be solved, sincere thanks to you all for your concern, I will keep you posted.

I have had two walking feet for my Brother SQ9000. After about a month, it started making a slapping sound. I was always having trouble with some puckers with mine too. After the second one started making the slapping sound right in the middle of quilting a quilt, I took it off, put my 1/4 inch foot on, and it sews so much better......no more puckers, so I gave up on a walking foot.
