That's an overwhelming vote for the green! Thanks for all your help! I'm meanwhile finished with my last two rows and am currently putting the border on (by hand, so it's a bit slow). I will show it when the top is finished!

You could do a narrow border of the red and then the green...but the red alone is too much and detracts from your center. The green alone is fine too.
