I would use it as a memory quilt, especially if you have someone in your family w/ alzhiemers. I would print family photos on the white areas and piece them as an album.

I have some of that same label fabric. Never thought to use it for something else, but now that you brought it up: Why not put fusible on back of label, cut out each label with seam allowance on outside, and fussy cut inside, insert pictures, and make a memory Christmas quilt out of the squares?? Maybe someone will have a better idea of how to do it, (I'm just waking up), but it would make a cute quilt. Especially for a young child.
... or make it for Grandparents with pics of all their own kids and Grands. The pics could be current or through the years. Would make a very special Christmas gift! |
If you're having guests during the holidays (Thanksgiving too), have everyone sign it. If you're going to a party or someone else's home where there will be even a small crowd, take it along, have the guests sign it and present it to the host/hostess. Makes a lovely "memory quilt" and you don't have to embroider it. I've done it several times for showers, a house-warming, most recently Irish-themed labels at my husband's milestone birthday party.

I think they would be nice on the outside of gift bags (make the lining of the tote bag in a cheery Christmas fabric). I like to make assorted size tote bags using my orphan blocks throughout the year. They usually end up cheaper than gift wrap and much more useful.

I would use the labels to embroider messages, and put the messages on holiday placemats. You could even use them as "fabric place cards" by putting names on the label. Also you could use them to put names on stockings.

I can't tell by the size of the fabric. I guess according to all other comments, you would use them for labels.
|
I think you could also fussy cut from other fabrics and applique in the centers of each "label", then piece them together with scrappy holiday fabrics for sashings and cornerstones. I would cut the round ones into squares as mentioned earlier. Or perhaps into diamonds and then add scrappy fabrics to make them square within a square.

Any ideas what to make from this fabric? I thought of cutting out the squares for gift tags but some are larger than a gift tag
