What is the cut width of your binding strips?

Just wondering what width of binding strips you cut. I used to use 2 1/2. then for years used 2" and just yesterday learned that I can do 1 7/8" and it turns out perfectly on both the front and back. I am interested in what size works best for you

I cut mine 2 1/4.

i prefer narrow bindings so often 2" (i seldom deal with 7/8" measurements); if binding a thick quilt- like a flannel one or one with minkie backing i may use a 2 1/4" up to a 2 1/2" but generally the narrower the better to me- i've used 1 3/4" and even 1 3/8" on small projects like placemats, tablerunners.

I use 2.5" for polyester battings, 2" for cotton battings. I use a little more than 1/4" seam, but probably not 3/8"

I always use 2 1/2. But I machine bind so I need the extra 1/4 inch!
